Field Notes 20260406-20260412 - Retrospective

The Blackwater Tower

It hasn’t been what I’d call “a typical week” but compared to some other ones in recent memory, it wasn’t all that bad. What has been interesting is reflecting back on the recent Mercury Retrograde and how things have been since it’s been over.

In short: During Mercury Rx I did go inward and dealt with internal resolution and integration more, but I also had more altered state experiences as well as very revelatory sessions compared to now that Mercury Rx is over. I’m not sure what that’s about, but I also know that thinking too long on this will lead to some self-fulfilling prophecies where they shouldn’t exist at all.

Having said that, this week has not been a total dud. My pre-session “boot loading” sequence changed locations and the overall direction of things continues to evolve. I continued to probe a new-to-me meditative function, the “focused point movement.” I also realized that by chasing that thread I effectively abandoned what’s natural to me — this is a very important learning point in my practice.

All in all there isn’t much more to write about this week. Take a look at today’s session below and catch up on any of the days you missed at the end of this entry. A new week is ahead of us!

Afternoon

  • Sun: Aries 22°
  • Moon: Aquarius 24° | Waning Crescent
Meditation
  • 35 Minutes.
  • Tom Campbell’s binaural beats, 128-64-32.

Sunday is a low-pressure day for meditation, with no particular experiments nor big questions to ask. Sometimes things get weird, but for most weeks this is a great day to do some light manifesting in deep meditative states.

I spent a little bit longer in my usual “loading” prep phase as very recently the location and quality of all of that has suddenly changed. I welcome the change; it’s a natural progression and evolution of the previous “spot”. While I continue to develop it, you’ll be seeing bits and pieces of it reflected in the Field Notes emblems (tiny illustrations). My goal is to have a proper writeup for it soon.

The meditation itself went just fine. I dropped into F10 (mind awake, body asleep) very quickly and expanded into F12 (expanded awareness) with a good amount of juice. For today’s manifesting session I meandered to F15 (a place of no time). I split my time there between that and building out this new non-local location that I’m now calling “The Blackwater Tower,” formerly Percept Tower.

I changed the name because I’m sure more of these “non-local” maps will come up throughout my practice. I’d like to keep it open-ended and allow for a plethora of places to be able to inhabit during these sessions.

Similar to how others have done before me, I’ll be encoding an address to these places so they could be potentially reachable by anyone. I’m thinking that on May 4th I’ll open it up for a visit during a particular time of day; I’ll be meditating and focusing my awareness in that location. More on that in a couple of weeks!
