Half of last year I kept having lucid dreams I called staging. Every single one ended the same way — I’d sink, spiral, spin down into a void. I read them as endings. They weren’t. They were the instruction, repeated over and over until I finally tested it this past weekend and went down instead of up during transitions.

Then the rest of the pattern surfaced at once: the shamanic practitioner pointing toward the lower domain. The Jungian dream — warrior riding a bear, then leaping off it. A psychedelic dream years ago, a deity telling me to jump from a mountain into a body of water. Both share a structure beyond direction: release the vehicle, enter the medium.

My subconscious has been pointing down my whole life. Last year it got loud because I was hitting a wall and clearly not getting it. The fear of heights, much better now, is the same thing read at body level — falling is the work, and the physical-plane version of that is dangerous, so the body throws the alarm.

This isn’t a deviation. The chart I work from runs the same axis — the depth pole is where the core of identity actually lives, and the public vocation point is “deep-sea divers” almost word for word. I was trying to project upward through a system whose gravity runs the other way.

The lucid dreams were showing me the route in spatial language.

A note on dismissal as instrument: the things I reject immediately are almost always what I come back to and find were the right move. Verification by elimination. By the time I arrive I actually know, which matters for an empirical method. So immediate rejection is itself data now. Don’t dismiss it.

And one more thing portal travel taught me, which keeps the whole composition honest: the torus doesn’t flow up or down, it just flows. My orientation means nothing to the structure. Down is the vector my instrument uses. The medium itself doesn’t care. As above, so below.
