Show me what I haven’t turned toward.
Field Notes 20260606 - Saturday
Following yesterday’s experience with Focus 21 (Bridge), after a few months of pausing sessions accessing that focus state, I decided to pick this quest back up with renewed interest and curiosity. There’s something about how this focus state responds to my access that has left me understanding that I don’t have the full picture and yet still know that I’m getting there anyways.
First things first, you’re not “going” anywhere during these sessions. The best analogy that I have for what’s going on is: imagine you’re sitting in front of a HAM radio (your brain/mind) and tuning the dial to specific frequencies. Some channels are “read only”, or “listen only”. Some channels have full “read/write” or “talk/listen”. Some channels come in sharp and clear, some channels are full of static and need finessing with the antenna. You get the picture.
We are awareness-piloting beings evolved in this specific density, which is linear time bound. Any change in our perception feels like we’re going somewhere, that there is movement and travel to get there… wherever there is. Paradoxically to our world and reality point of view, that’s not what’s really going on. Our experience suggests travel but the reality of it all is closer to standing still while changing frequencies.
In fact, “standing still” is probably the most useful suggestion that you can give yourself doing this work. Stillness, presence, consciousness firmly planted in the “eternal now” is the gateway to other realms. When you’re in action, physically or within your mind, you are reinforcing this waking life density narrative and therefore locked into its native frequency.
It may seem paradoxical that I coined my practice “Agile Awareness” given this insight; however, it is still accurate within the rules of physical frequency and using our language. During deep trance and immersive altered states, what separates from the physical? Awareness. It is the agility of awareness to recognize and hop frequencies, not the physical vehicle.

Prior to meditation, I consulted with my trusty tarot deck to feel out and gauge a direction for this particular situation. I have the words, the ideas, the concepts, language, visuals, etc., all about this stuff… but the experience part of the Agile Awareness principles has yet to be achieved with Focus 21, not fully at least. After a quick 3-card draw and reading, I was armed with a new query to cast and set off on what I thought would be at least an hour-long session.
Dropping into F10 (mind awake/body asleep) state was extremely fast. Having said that, I let myself sit in it, settle down, even risk clicking out. I’ve recognized this to be an important step that I used to rush from as soon as I knew I was “in it”. It’s honestly better to ride this state as long as it takes until you feel the need to move on. Applying my “let go and flow” and “lazy river” approach to trance sessions here from start to finish.
Expanding in F12 (expanded awareness) was equally as quick. Actually, I was a little skeptical at first at how quick this was, but for whatever reason I kept slowly counting and moving. This wasn’t exactly part of the plan, and I’m also recognizing that plans are great, but when you notice yourself doing something that wasn’t planned: just let it happen, man.
Trance was now in full swing. I was coasting on frequencies while methodically making my way to deeper and deeper waters. Each count forward brought a new-ish wrinkle to my internal state, visually or intuitively. I remember moving through F15 (place with no time) without much of a break. I was in flow, no indication that I needed to set my bags down and rest.
Nearly each count was accompanied by a soft white light leaking into my field of view from all sides like a vignette slowly creeping inward.
Approaching F18 (heart space) was a different story. Between count “17” and “18”, a massive jolt materialized from within the center of my mind and shot outwardly in all directions with a blazing white light. The “pop” and jolt aspects of it definitely felt like something that would knock me out of my ideal state… but that wasn’t the case today.
I continued on methodically until I finally reached my destination. I cast my query while settling in F21, “Show me what I haven’t turned toward.” By this point, I felt like I’d been surfing the frequencies for a good hour or so. It was time to hop back to the physical and turn in for an attempt at a different immersive altered state.
I gave my gratitude as usual and abruptly made my exit. I’ve decided to not “walk back down the ladder” anymore. It doesn’t really do anything other than show you that you are indeed switching frequencies/focus states. For demonstration and learning, I think it’s an exercise that should be done but not mandatory for the actual practice. Think of it like abruptly waking up from a dream, life goes on, we don’t always make it out of REM and into light sleep before waking.
I put my gear away and checked the time. Huh, half an hour had passed… It felt like an hour or more. Good, this trance session was one of my more immersive altered states that I have had in the last couple months. I began to threshold hunt and it was going swimmingly well, but I missed my timing as this time unconsciousness was fast approaching, which I haven’t experienced in a couple months as well.
Good session, moving forward, or is it standing still? Shift your awareness and perspective, not your being.
