The missing detail.

Field Notes of Rahgah - 20260923-S6

Keep the shape you were shown. It was always yours, even before you looked.

About a year and a half ago, I had an experience during trance that left me dumbfounded. I didn’t write much about it afterwards, much like with a lot of the more impactful things that have happened to me until I’ve examined them sufficiently. Here is the account of the event:

At some point while just observing F21, I saw myself sit up. I was in grayscale and transparent, but with far more detail than other grayscale visions I’ve had. I looked down and saw my physical body lying still, with my normal skin tone, black shirt, and my beloved flower-tortilla-patterned blanket covering my waist. The strange part was that I saw it from first-person perspective, from my left side looking at me, and from the top… all basically at the same time but it was not disorienting at all. The moment I realized what was happening, I snapped back to my physical body, noticing only the darkness behind my closed eyes (I was wearing an eye mask). There is a detail I did not include originally in this write-up but have been pondering ever since. I can still see it as clear as day when I think back to this experience. The form emerging out of my physical body was grayscale and transparent. That is accurate but far more muted than you can imagine, and here’s the missing part: the form was outlined.

I initially hesitated to include this detail because the third-person view and simultaneous vision from different perspectives are strange enough. I also have encountered the outline description before, primarily online, but never attached a name to what exactly it was (energy/etheric double).

I give myself some grace here because this was close to when I started Percept Index and I was still pretty hesitant to publicly talk about these things. Nevertheless, I’ve opened up about a lot of stuff since then that is far more “out there” and of “that’s wild, dude… anyway” quality.

So here it is on the record. The side view is the one I can pull up on demand: an outline, white but never white-white, shimmering, changing, rising out of the body on the bunk. I watched it for a few seconds from a point that was neither the body lying down nor the form getting up. That’s the part that still makes me scratch my head. Three things in the room and I was the third one, or rather all three.

Here’s what makes that sighting strange from the other direction. That is the only time I’ve ever seen the double. Every time I’ve projected since, I’ve looked. I look for hands, I look for arms, I look for anything where a body should be, and there’s nothing. I can sit on the floor, stand at a door, reach out and turn a knob that turns, but there is no me to see doing it. The environment renders fine, I don’t.

In today’s panel, our hero is down for the count on the bunk, mask on, headphones on, the console reading and documenting. The outline, etheric double, is already activated and separated. The room has gone muted, colors pulled back the way they often do in that mode. On the floor a portal has opened, a spiral, and that’s where the outline is headed. The only thing identifiable on him is the mustache. It connects him to the physical body and to the grey that he was on the first spread.

A note on what I’m borrowing. My understanding is that the etheric double is not what you take with you into the astral. There’s another instrument for the astral, and in that space what you look like depends on what you think you look like. Astral runs on thought. Man, woman, bird, cat, whatever. I’m bending that for the story. Once he’s through the portal, he keeps the outline, and whatever he turns into over there stays an outline and keeps the mustache.

Not technically correct, and I know it. I’m using this part of the series to hold onto the one thing I was shown about my own energy/etheric body, since from the inside I’m apparently nothing.

One more thing I’ve been sitting with. It would make sense to me if the double is available at all times and something we barely understand keeps us from it. What I actually think is that it’s always there and access runs on available energy. When I’m sick, the immersive states go first, then regular meditation dims, and the green torus I see on embrace nearly disappears. The body pays for this: a tired body chooses sleep even while it’s vibrating. In this fourth-density world, things float, and I don’t believe levitating should be a free activity but rather be treated like everything else.

The outline in this panel is built from the one reference I have. That’s how this instrument works: it needs something to look at before it can make anything. For nearly two years I set that sighting aside, now it’s the thing the hero is drawn from and in the foreground of my own practice.
