What comes along.
Field Notes of Nobody’s Ghost 20260928-20261004 - Retrospective
The seventh spread of Field Notes of Nobody’s Ghost.
This week was about what comes along with you.
Two wood-burn portraits came with me (eventually) from Russia at thirteen and survived every move since, long before I knew why I was keeping them. The ghost landed in Rahgah and checked his hands first, the shape he holds before he chooses another. A question from two sources about what consciousness exploration is “good for” turned into an inventory of what I no longer carry: the avoidance, the guarding, the rooms I used to walk around.
Then the techniques arrived in focus once again. The ones that work for a while and fade were containers for something that stays. The focus point wore out while the brow it pointed through kept working, that’s a valuable clue. So the posture changed, every cast is an invitation now. The want (“what”) remains the target and the door stays open.
The spread runs in that order. Arrive and check what you are, walk toward the strange thing, then picture the new form and let it come. The ghost crouches behind a rock at the foot of a giant mushroom, imagining himself as one of its spore people, and the mustache comes along, the way it does into every form.
A new name.
Starting with this retrospective, Field Notes of Rahgah is Field Notes of Nobody’s Ghost. Rahgah stays as the world. The name started as a joke in a note this week and turned out to be the accurate one, some might even say life is but a joke…
The earlier panels were the setup: the tank, the landing, the path. The white outline is what the series was heading toward from the start, a ghost moving through endless astral and subtle spaces. He stays unnamed. He belongs to nobody, which leaves him open for anyone to step into. Especially if that someone also wears a mustache, I’m just pointing out the obvious.
Nothing in the archive moves. The entries stay where they are, and only the name on the header changes from here.
